Each year the association holds a flock judging competition with a number of classes.  We encourage all members with Whitefaces to enter this competition.  It’s a chance to get feedback from the judges on your sheep and to receive suggestions for improvement, as well as to win some silverware!

The classes are:

• Under 20 ewes
• Between 20 and 49 ewes
• Over 50 ewes
• Best group of ewe lambs
• Best stock ram

Judging is held on your farm in October by prior appointment.  There are usually three judges each year made up from the winners of the previous year’s flock competition.

Silver cups are awarded to the winners and rosettes to the runners-up in each class.  Those receiving cups are asked to have their names inscribed on them and to return them for presentation to next year’s winners.

The awards, together with a small cash prize, are presented at the Annual Association dinner at the end of October.
