From the outset the main objectives of the Association were actively to promote the breed and its virtues. To this day the objectives of the Association are:
As well as actively promoting the breed the Association works closely with other organisations both to ensure that the breed and hill farming have a viable future. A show and sale of registered stock is held annually at Exeter Livestock Market. Members are also encouraged to enter the yearly flock competition where no flock is either too small or too large!
