The Whiteface Dartmoor Sheep Breeders'Association was formed at a meeting in 1950 when those attending recognised that the breed was in danger of becoming extinct.

From the outset the main objectives of the Association were actively to promote the breed and its virtues. To this day the objectives of the Association are:

• To encourage people to breed Whiteface Dartmoor Sheep.
• To further the interests of the breed, both in its own right and as a commercial sheep either pure bred or crossed with other breeds.
• To produce an annual Flock Book

As well as actively promoting the breed the Association works closely with other organisations both to ensure that the breed and hill farming have a viable future.

A show and sale of registered stock is held annually at Exeter Livestock Market. Members are also encouraged to enter the yearly flock competition where no flock is either too small or too large!

The Association is open to anyone who has an interest in the breed and we warmly welcome new members.
